Celebrate summer with a rosé soirée

Nothing says summer like a glass of Rosé

Summer is here, Christmas and NYE are coming, it’s time to stock up on my rosé. Fortuitously I am heading to the PWS rosé soirée, that should take care of it all! Entering via a vast array of rosés, a veritable rainbow of the colours pink, I am very ready for some tasting.

The french are the most delicate of rosés, with the Chateau Ott 2015 beguiling me very much. A magnum of Chateau du Rouet is an impressive thing for a festive season party as well.

Some of the aussie drops are appealing to me as well, and have a bit more ‘pow’ to them than the french. The deliciously dry Medhurst rose is based on 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Shiraz.  Spinifex is an old favourite, from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Mataro and Ugni. Head rose is another staple of mine, this one all from Grenache vineyards.

It’s an international selection and I also find a delicious, good value Italian (Poggio) and an interesting Austrian (Pittnauer). Looks like I’m sorted for summer after all. What’s your favourite rosé?
